Destination Health Privacy Policy
Destination Health is a training app that builds simple workouts for you and adjusts them as you go. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
In short
- Your name, your answers and your workout history are stored on your phone.
- Your name is never sent anywhere.
- If you turn on AI coaching (it asks first, and you can turn it off any time in Settings), your answers and workout feedback are sent to an AI provider so your plan can be adjusted.
- We keep one app-wide counter of how often the app is opened. Nothing in it is about you.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
1. Who we are
Destination Health is made by an independent developer. For anything in this policy, write to repquest.project@gmail.com.
2. What we use
Stored on your phone only
- Your name, if you enter one. It is used to greet you in the app and is never sent to us or anyone else.
- Your answers from setup: goal, experience, equipment, how many days you want to train, and which exercises you like or want to avoid.
- Pain or injuries, if you tell the app about them. This is health information. Giving it is optional, and it is used only to pick safer exercises.
- Your workout history: which sessions, walks and stretches you did, when, for how long, which exercises and how many sets, and your answers to the questions after a workout (how it felt, whether anything hurt).
- Your strength test results and settings such as your reminder time.
This information is not sent to us unless you use AI coaching (see section 3). When you delete the app, or choose Reset all progress in Settings, it is removed from your phone.
Sent to us automatically
- One app-wide counter. Each time the app is opened, one shared counter goes up by one. Nothing that identifies you or your phone is stored with it. We use it to see roughly how much Destination Health is used.
- For AI requests only: a random ID that the app creates on your phone, and your IP address, reach our server so we can apply a daily limit per device and per network and prevent misuse. The ID is not your name and cannot be traced to you by us. These counters are kept for about two days.
We do not use advertising IDs, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app does not collect your location, contacts, camera or microphone.
3. AI coaching
Destination Health can use an AI model to build your plan, adjust it after a workout, change today's session, and answer questions in the coach chat. This only happens if you say yes. The app asks during setup, and you can turn it off at any time under Settings → Adjust my plan with AI. When it is off, the app uses simple built-in rules and sends nothing.
What is sent when it is on
- Your goal, experience level, equipment, number of training days and exercises to avoid.
- Any pain or injury areas you have told the app about.
- Today's session and the exercises in your plan.
- Your answers after a workout, including what hurt and any note you write yourself.
- What you type in the coach chat or in the free-text box when you ask to change a session.
- The random device ID (section 2) so the daily limit works.
Never sent: your name or any contact details. Please do not write personal details such as your name, address or phone number in free-text boxes or in the chat.
Who processes it
Requests go through our own server, hosted by Vercel, to Anthropic, which provides the AI model. Anthropic processes the request on our behalf to produce an answer, and does not use it to train its AI models. We use your answers only to fit your training to you — never for advertising, and we never sell them. Anthropic's handling of data is described in its own policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy. We do not store your AI requests or the answers on our server after the request is complete. Our server logs only technical usage numbers (such as the size of a request).
What it can and cannot do
The AI gives general training suggestions. It is not a doctor or a physiotherapist and it does not give medical advice. If something hurts, stop and speak to a healthcare professional.
4. Notifications
If you turn on training reminders, the app asks for permission and schedules notifications on your phone, at the time you choose, on your training days. They do not come from our servers and no notification token is collected. You can turn reminders off in Settings or in your phone's settings.
5. Who else is involved
| Service | What for | What it can see |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | The AI model | The AI information in section 3, only if AI coaching is on |
| Vercel | Hosts our server that connects the app to the AI | The AI requests as they pass through, and your IP address |
| Upstash (Redis) | Short-lived daily counters to prevent misuse | The random device ID and IP address, for about two days, only for AI requests |
| Google (Firebase Firestore) | Storing the app-wide counter | The counter only. When the app adds to it, Google can see your IP address as part of the connection, but we store nothing about you |
These providers may process data outside your own country, including in the United States. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
6. Why we are allowed to use it
- Your consent for AI coaching and for the health information you choose to give. You can withdraw it at any time by turning off AI coaching in Settings or by resetting your progress.
- Our legitimate interest in running the app, preventing misuse and counting how much the app is used.
7. How long we keep it
- On your phone: until you delete it, reset your progress or remove the app.
- Daily limit counters for AI requests: about two days.
- The app-wide counter has nothing about you in it, so there is nothing to delete.
8. Your choices and rights
- Turn off AI coaching any time in Settings.
- Delete your data on your phone with Settings → Reset all progress, or by removing the app.
- We do not keep a lasting record about you on our side. The only per-device information, used for the AI daily limit, is gone after about two days.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to certain uses, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We will answer requests as soon as we can.
9. Children
Destination Health is not made for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are under the age at which your country lets you agree to this kind of service on your own, ask a parent or guardian first. If we learn that a child under 13 has used the app, we will delete what we hold.
10. Security
AI requests are sent over an encrypted connection. Information stored on your phone is protected by your phone's own security, so please use a screen lock.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, for example by sending new kinds of information, we will update the date at the top and, where needed, ask for your permission again in the app.
